Councillor funding for replacement trees

Many thanks to our local Councillors James Gibson, Christine Knight and Jonathan Bentley, who have between them kindly donated £600 from their 'MICE' money to enable us to buy four trees and associated materials. Three of these will be planted to replace the two mature beech lost to fungal attack last year, and the 'Bags of Help' sweet chestnut which was killed by grazing deer. The fourth tree is a Japanese cherry which will be planted alongside the main path at the Queenswood Road end of the park. We need volunteers to plant one or two on 17th February (see previous post) and the remainder on Sunday 3rd March.
